Welcome to MICHI, a renovated about 200-year-old traditional Nagano farmhouse.
We created this space for guests to experience the charm of old Japan with modern comfort.
MICHI is the perfect base to explore them all and enjoy local culture and nature.
The property is ideally located within walking distance of local landmarks: just 20 minutes to Zenkoji Temple.
About 10 minutes by taxi to Nagano Station.
In the evening, enjoy local food and drinks next door, then return to a quiet home without the need to travel far.

【Access】
_By Car: 30 mins (11km) from Nagano IC (Joshin-etsu Expwy).
_By Train: 10 mins (5km) by taxi or rental car from JR Nagano Station (Zenkoji Exit).
Parking: Free parking for 2 cars (Please look for the signs).
【The Space】
Living/Dining: Dining set, traditional Chabudai (low table), cushions, TV, Bluetooth speaker, record player, and Wi-Fi.
Kitchen: Fully equipped with fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, and IH hob.
Cookware/Tableware: Pots, pans, coffee dripper, and a full set of dishes/cutlery.
Pantry: Salt, soy sauce, herb salt, black pepper, sugar, oil, drip coffee, and Japanese tea bags.
Bath & Amenities: Washer, gas dryer (1 detergent pod provided per night), hair dryer, towels, toothbrushes, cotton swabs, and bath amenities (shampoo, etc.). Note: Pajamas are not provided.
Entertainment: Comics (EN/JP), books on local history, board games (Othello, Shogi, etc.), UNO, and playing cards.
【Free Bicycle Rental】
Availability: April to late November (Closed in winter Dec–March for safety).
Details: 4 bicycles (20-inch, 6-speed) with locks and helmets.
Requirement: Please read the safety notes in your room and sign the waiver before use. Use is at your own risk.
【Important Notes & House Rules】
・Unique Property Setup: This 200-year-old house also hosts "Nanairo," a local eatery located within the same building (with a separate entrance). Restaurant hours: 16:30 – 21:00 (Closed Thursdays).
Please note that voices from the restaurant may be audible during business hours.
・Silent Time: 21:00 – 07:00. Please be respectful of our neighbors.
・No Fire: BBQ, campfires, and fireworks are strictly prohibited on the premises.
・No Smoking & No Pets: The interior is strictly non-smoking.
・Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is only allowed at the outdoor bench. Please use the ashtray.
Penalty for violation: 30,000 JPY cleaning fee.
・Damages: Please handle equipment with care. Repair costs for any damage will be charged to the guest.
・Waste: Please sort your trash and bundle it together before departure.
・Security: An outdoor camera is installed at the entrance for safety and guest verification.
・Winter Travel: Studless/winter tires are mandatory for cars in winter.
【Seasonal Advice: Winter Clothing】
In winter, temperatures drop below freezing. While we provide heaters and A/C, the air in a traditional house can feel cold.
We highly recommend bringing warm indoor clothing (fleece, long sleeves, thick socks).
